I Married the Famous, Hideous “Young Lady Goblin” and She Was Absolutely Adorable. Chapter 16 Discussion

This novel is an isekai where the MC died old and alone for being ugly, reincarnate as a chad from some poor noble family, but as he is not the eldest son he ends up being sold to the most powerful duke family as the bride of their hideous daughter, aka goblina. But she is a pure and perfect girl, so MC wants to marry her anyway.

This is the basic setup of this novel. Some more details are interesting, such as Spoiler

he was not isekaied but reincarnated in the same world, but after a semi-apocalypse war, and he was a golem engineer, as his original timeline is fantasy, with magic and shit, and he knows that the disease that turns her into goblina is some high mana related condition, so he decides to save her with his knowledge of old times.

As it is usual in those isekai plots, he uses his knowledge to solve most of the problems, but there is an interesting side to it, as he died as a loner at an old age, he just is removed from most of the world, in a social point of view. So he relates to the FL as she is shunned by her appearance as he was. Therefore, he tries to show her that there is good in being alive, even if he can help a tormented soul. It is pretty nice if you think about it.

But there are some problems. Spoiler

The s*upid misunderstanding that arose between them drives some more drama in the plot, as he finally founds the cure to her condition; that could be solved with a simple talk, turning this drama kinda bad to me. And the fact that she can be an ultra magic power lord part of the overlords of the old world is pretty dumb, considering that her family would try everything to solve her condition. But what gets me more than anything is only one fact: no f*cking way a sly man would pass the chance to get near the most powerful ducal house in the kingdom because of a hideous face. For power, status, and money most of the bachelors of the kingdom would fly to her, being a goblina or not. This is kind of hinted at by the First prince plot, where he is said to treat her right for his gain. But he is the only one who does so do not seems real to me. This could be an interesting point, where she sees that the possible fiance prospects are only dealing with her for the family name and power, but nothing is perfect.

I would recommend reading it for the nice healing portion of the tale. And the fact that he projects his oldself in her is not all that bad, as he tries to help her for how good of a person she is. Just be warned that at some point you will get pissed at the MC, but he is (kinda) justified in his decision. And out of nowhere there is magic and stuff in the world. So be warned. Even so, this does not get in the way of the enjoyable parts.
