The author tried to write a novel about Gary Stu, her ultimate boyfriend, but realized that it wouldn't actually make an interesting story.

To solve this problem she made Gary emotionally female so he wouldn't be able take basic steps to resolve simple problems.

That took care of the plot because now Gary needs to spend all his time resolving drama which could have avoided with literally by speaking a sentence or two at the right time, however this solution created a new problem of I don't care about any of these characters or their self-inflicted drama any more.
