I wonder if this idea about Jotaro never playing a video game has a layer beyond rule of cool. The badass factor of Jotaro ‘memorizing’ how to hit on the fly and beating a pro with his precision is definitely cool, but to drive home numerous times that Jotaro knows nothing about video games does evoke questions about what he does for fun. It’s not hard to imagine Jonathan enjoying his life peacefully and enjoying the presence of his friends and wife, and it’s not hard to imagine young Joseph goofing off and causing a ruckus or laughing with Smokey because we saw both of these things. But, when it comes to Jotaro, what’s he do for fun? Outside of soaking in the presence of his friends, or walking around and enacting his sense of justice, I don’t know! I mean, we did get a hint that he shows off cigarette tricks to Polnareff in the Oingo Boingo arc so maybe that’s a hint.
