You Cultivate, I Farm Chapter 282 Discussion

Very slow, very formulaic. Despite that I like how the MC doesn't have to mu*der his way to immortality like in most cultivation stories. Mostly. Yet every plot development is pretty forced. Don't expect character development, foreshadowing, or even a well fleshed out setting. Personally I'd like to see a cultivation MC that is neither extreme and has a clear bottom line that they do their best to adhere to.

Spoiler

Most of the antagonists are true canonfodder and some show up for a chapter or two and then seemingly forgotten. Either way they never accomplish much. Probably the biggest threat to the MC is the asinine way his sect is ran. There seems to be no real structure to it at first. The MC can just do whatever he wants, but then just randomly he's suddenly required to do this or that for the Sect. There's no advance notice, and it doesn't matter what other jobs he's taken on from his seniors... he has to drop everything right then and leave the Sect! Well, I assume the real reason for this is that the author himself can't/won't plot things out in advance and is simply reacting to the popularity to try to drag the series out for as long as possible.
