The Transmigration Survival Guide Chapter v160 Discussion

First off let's clarify - the protagonist has neither a succubus daughter nor a warrior-mommy. Instead, he gets sort of saddled with those two characters in the first couple of chapters by the sadistic and evil queen and sent off to some remote village in the middle of nowhere where the "warrior-mommy" (Veirya) is the lord. Veirya is sort of the hero of all humanity who kills the demon king in chapter 1.

So you can sort of see where the Release That Witch comparisons come from - both feature a transmigrated MC banished to a remote and miserable corner of the world that just begs for the MC to improve things. Sadly that's where the similarities end. Unlike in RTW, in this story the MC is pretty much powerless, what little authority he has comes from being Veirya's s*ave (since she's the hero of humanity and has all the personality of a block of wood, so she lets him talk for her a lot of the time). It's still a sort of workable premise but the problem is that Veirya's sole character trait is that she's been honed into an emotionless killing machine by years of war - she speaks in a dull and monosyllabic manner and her first instinct to solve any problem is to cut it down with her sword. Since she's now the "lord" of a territory her responsibilities have changed and her "kill everything" approach just makes her come across as a moron. A scary moron.

With that premise established most of the story is just MC desperately trying to appease Vierya, trying to stop her from randomly killing, trying to clean up the messes she leaves behind - and mostly succeeding. But at the end of the day - MC is just Veirya's s*ave. A kind of all purpose handyman she still treats like utter sh*t after the entire 60 chapters of the first volume. It's not a lot of fun to see the MCs good ideas being shut down by the scary moron and also having to read about how badly she treats him even after a whole volume of him doing nothing but cleaning up her messes.

And then... there's also the "yandere succubus". What can I say. This character exists purely for fanservice and because she's around a good 10-20% of of the wordcount is just hijinks about MC groping her b**bs or smashing his face in her b**bs or tripping and falling into her b**bs. Basically she's just here so the author could throw in some TIDDIES. Lovely.

RTW does the whole "raising the peasant dirt farmers up out of poverty" thing 100x better than this story (since in RTW the MC is just directly the lord of the land and he can actually make the changes he wants to make) but it also doesn't have a "yandere succubus" who clings to the main character in bed every night. So, win some lose some I guess.
