Unsurprisingly, the kid was in on this and by deduction, so was everyone around. They were all D’arby’s people, no matter how this went, the chips would be in his favour. And despite the situation and the cinematic loss Jotaro had already faced, this is his literal best strength. His poker face and his guts. I said that Joseph was the best on paper to beat D’arby, but Jotaro is the best at poker. He gambled his life and Abdul’s life after showing the utmost confidence in his cards, this appeared like it was a bluff with no question. But then, when wagered to bet their other teammates' life, Iggy- I mean Kakyoin, Jotaro did so without question. Now, despite all the odds being on D’arby’s side, even he has to doubt himself. Especially because Jotaro had Star Platinum light up his cigarette in front of D’arby. He’s seeping into his head, attacking him with doubt!
I think the way this has to end is by D’arby raising his own soul. That or forcing him to fold through the fear of doing such a thing. But with D’arby being a prideful gambler, I wager he would put his life on the line. However, if this occurred, it does eliminate the rule of cool fact that so much was staked on a bluff. And to so overtly rub Star Platinum’s quick movement in D’arby’s face, another possibility in my mind is that he wants to force him into a situation of claiming that Jotaro cheated when he never did and turn it on him that way. But then again, you can't really prove that. It’s cool because there are so many rule of cool finishes here and I look forward to seeing how it turns out. Gambling can be so much cooler than fighting to me.
In One Poker-hen there is such a cool moment just like this, where Kaiji unexpectedly gambles his friends lives with him on a bluff.
