Up to the 5th chapter and a whole bunch of backstory just got added which has taken what at first felt like a cheesy rom com into something more dramatic.

The twist from that development is taking the story in a direction I hadn't expected and I'm enjoying it so far.

Try up to chapter 5. That's where the NTR that isn't really NTR happens so that's about the point to make your mind up. I'm not an NTR enjoyer and it was fine. MC doesn't get his girl stolen, exactly. NTR tag might be excessive, for now at least.
