Experience trumped power thanks to Joseph's really clever thinking and Empress' complacency and arrogance. Making a map out of ashes is the last thing anyone would've expected so I wonder if he took a gamble on whether that would work or not.

Empress just got thorned real hard and died with a sickening crunch.

First it was a macho-man disguised in a fat woman and now it's a fat ugly woman disguised as a beautiful Desi girl... Never felt so deceived but Polnareff nearly had it worse if it weren't for Joseph dealing with her right away.

This whole fight was for all the people that doubted my man Joseph.

This Joseph arc was such a sweet way to give Joseph and Battle Tendency some love.  Polnareff just missing him twice reminded me of the guys telling Polnareff he took too long after he had just beaten Devo.  An on the nose way of letting us know Araki knows what he’s doing.  Joseph is an independent grandpa and he needs no young boys to watch his back!  He fought the karate baby, using his prosthetic for defense, and while being launched around he created a map with dust leading him to his salvation.  It was the perfect use of the utility and strength of his mind and his stand, showcasing why it’s so perfect for him, and it was even comical in the way his victories always are: “Hey Straits there are 10 grenades on your back!!”  What’s amazing is that I got sick of Joseph by the end of Battle Tendency, at least in his fighting; I found it boring.  Yet, to bring it back so beat for beat, the process of him looking like he was an idiot, saying it’s a part of the plan, then looking like it failed, but then that being part of the plan too, even with the iconic ‘your next line will be’, it was just perfect.  It's nice to see the old routine after all this time.

Now understanding the real identity of Nena, the Empress, we ought to consider the ramifications of her interactions with Hol Horse!!  But seriously, I realized quickly that my assumption that Nena could be a manipulated but good person that could be taken under Polnareff's brotherly arm was further very wrong seeing that her stand was incredibly evil and stands are the life energy one projects.

This fight was always a treat, getting to see Joseph's quick thinking in action again. Pulling out his catchphrase was just the cherry on top.

Polnareff was too naive!

And lol, what an ugly woman, he will be more careful the next time he falls in love.

It was awesome to see Joseph being his old self, despite being physically older than he was back in Part 2. :D He matured a lot, but as for personality he is the same Joseph we know from the battle against Pillar men, haha.

It's too convenient how Polnareff never noticed Joseph.

Getting those Battle Tendency antics as just a pinch in a different soup is indeed the perfect way to make them effective.

The incense "spirit impression" done in the midst of an apparent accident was fun.

5/5 "And now you say..." Christine ?

@gfsdfgsdgsdfgs Simply tought that The Empress' user was sent to India too and used the poor abused girl that somehow had tried to get back to Hol Horse. ^^"
