                        Man, this is one awesomely creative fight. I hope this ends up getting animated.

I had been thinking, Abdul with Magician’s Red could potentially rise again like the Phoenix that his stand is. However, showing us that his pulse has been stopped, and building up all the emotion around this, it makes me think Abdul is really dead.  Araki must know that if he came back after this, we’d be more disappointed than grateful unless it was something absolutely intriguing.  In a way, Abdul was the best to kill off.  For me personally, I find him the most simplistic character alongside Jotaro.  He is a trained sensei character who can die while passing off wisdom and changing the people around him.  Further, the way he died doesn’t hinder his character, it only adds to it.  We saw the compassion that Abdul had at its highest here.  Just as he wanted to fight to save Holly, he tried to fight to save such a new comrade.  He is a gentle soul, full of fire and passion, Magician's Red is perfect for him.  So, although I have reason to doubt Abdul’s death, I hope that it is real.

This arc has hands down been the best part of Stardust Crusaders and this chapter was a total high point.  I should never say at the moment that I’m hyped up that it’s one of my favorite arcs in the franchise, so I won’t, but it feels really freaking good.  Firstly, it made me way more attached to Kakyoin and Polnareff.  By forcing Polnareff to realize he has friends that want to risk their lives for him, and that he can’t go throwing his life away anymore, it changed him.  It’s a struggle, but he can swallow his pride and his hot headed anger for the sake of refusing to let Abdul die in vain!!!  And, I wanted to mention how held together Kakyoin was, I had mentioned his poker face in the past, but here illustrated it better than ever.  He got sweaty but he didn’t crack, he controls his emotions to perfection.  So to save Polnareff, and let it out with an elbow to the face and some long awaited tears was phenomenal.  It added an emotional bond between them, and a duty to fight together rather than alone.  I especially adored the sentimental look of Kakyoin as he drove away and looked back at the body of their comrade, as if he was saying sorry, and goodbye.

Outside of that, this fight is dynamic and exciting and asks us to follow along with it.  The villains being set up to be notable is one thing, but the execution of the fight is on a whole nother level.  Polnareff tried to flee but got held back by the manipulation and rage J. Geil produced inside of him, causing him to shatter the mirror; only worsening the avenues of attack his enemies had.  He was put in the same situation as Abdul and we didn’t learn any solutions to the tag team combo.  I actually froze wondering what the hell he could do when Kakyoin came in clutch and shot him out of the way.  Some internal bleeding is better than death.  He picked him up in the car and the nature of this tag team fight itself changed.

We are now in a situation of retreating and recouping.  A situation of breaking down the weaknesses of this combo.  How can one fight against the two, how can one harm J. Geil?  Hol Horse first let us know a prime weakness of his stand, despite being the best sharpshooter in the world, he lacks range.  His stand is not one of the few that can go obscene distances.  He shoots like he’s in a cowboy duel, not like a sniper.  Second, J. Geil, like with Rubber Soul/Yellow Temperance could be taken down by discovering where his human body is.  That said, one has to wonder where he is if he can attach his stand to the car and ask how he vanished to begin with.  However, there may be another way to deal with him.  Unfortunately, we don’t have a vampire with us as that would be the ultimate counter. What we do know is that he has pursued the two in the car.  Being a demon of reflection is scary, the windows, the mirrors, Kakyoin’s earrings, anything could be a threat.  And he’s not letting up, he may have a deeper connection to Polnareff for all we know.

To pair Silver Chariot, and Hierophant Green against the Emperor and the Hanging Man is undeniably the most creative and interesting stand fight yet, one of maneuvering the many strengths and weaknesses of each power.  I had felt that Stardust Crusaders, while influential, was dated, the fights could end simplistically and the plot guiding those fights could be boring, but here Araki proved that stand fights do not need to feel dated at all.  This would be as exciting as it is in anything!

Part two has better fights (so far) but this one has more variety of character fights . Every fight of part two was between Joseph vs someone . Caesar and Lisa Lisa barely got fights .

Nice handshake from Kakyoin .

Hanged Man's ability reminds me very much of 2008's Mirrors but the horror movie came long after so it might've been inspired by the Stand.

Polnareff knows that he's fighting a losing battle but he still pushed on, making it necessary for Kakyoin to subdue him with an Emerald Splash to be able to rescue him.

They might've escaped Hol Horse's Emperor but J Geil's right at their tail. Kakyoin elbowed Polnareff in the face as a show of worry for him and grief towards Avdol's loss ;-;

>Stands can defeat other stands.

So they figured it out huh? Took them some time...

Also, seems like they find a way to defeat the light/mirror stand. About time too.
