I have to admit that Yue romance barely function (but it make sense, people would naturally find something to cling to in thier absolute rock bottom) and Shia start as a disaster. Let not mention the dragon, she a pe*vert no need for comment. Remus and Aiko still confuse me but given what MC did it understandable that it happen. However, Kaori and Shizuku romance make the later part of the story worth it and made up for the disaster that is Shia. One is about accepting change to the beloved as natural and be there to help him (bring him slowly back from absolute jerkassery). One is about accepting herself and her feeling. Shizuku's character development is done exceedingly well that it will make you wish that this arc happen 5 volume earlier.
[collapse]Now the main story, tragedy happen MC gone from weak to strong and get force into the Harem he eventually warm up to... not the worst thing in the world. Some of the best story often have simple structure. For those yelling about the dark trope. Please don't take away my faith in humanity. Instead of using your narrow point of view and what could have been. Please judge something as it is.SpoilerKOUKI exist to be hate right from chapter two as a classic hero. So hate him
[collapse]this is a story about a nice guy who fell to hell and become a badass with heart of stone (something most reader will like because reader are total sad*st who like to only see MC struggle). And he he find somethings to love and slowly getting back that empathy of his (which the reader totally hate because it ruin that nice original settingfor soft and fluffy romance, guys read v14 the dark in the first volume Is continue here and lynch as an Aesop. The hero journey is not about dark for dark sake but fall and slow return to the light side (?) of an incompetent hero into a man he will be come.4 star... minus one for the clunky romance but otherwise recommended read especially for the side stories. seriously those thing are so good.
