Why are so many people into NTR?

I am so confused. To me being into NTR means that basically you are a Cuckold and want your women to be taken by another man. I cannot see why this genre would be so popular. I mean I do like netori and if you pretend that the bad guy is the protagonist and skip all the bits with the actual protagonist NTR can become netori but I don't see the majority of people doing this. So I am really confused I mean from an evolutionary standpoint only a very very small precentage of the population ,aberations, should enjoy this kind of thing but it is really popular.

Liking a genre doesn't mean that one would like to expierence such a thing, for example I like action manga that guets bloody, and gory doesn't mean that I actually like to hurt myself or people around me not that I am a violent person. There is a varied factors to enjoy something at some point of time.

Yeah,i don't understant why people likes ntr,i tried it once and was painfully.I can't handle those feelings,everytime I see a ntr story on NU I say not again....

I think you forget the fact that many people don't know the difference between NTR and netori... and many Netori are labeled as NTR...
That said, NTR is a cancer that plagues the community. I mean, I'm all for mind break and what not, but in the end, it can turn into a happy end.

It's not even fucking ntr when the girl never like your loser ass to begin with. Barely any interaction between mc and girl but girl falls in love with an other guy is not ntr either.

Ntr is when mc girlfriend is literally cheating and slept/kiss with other guy. Mc crush going for other guys is not fucking ntr when she never likes mc/you/selfinsert.

People saying that it teaches them valuable lesson is full of nonsense. These people obviously gets a full chub reading these stuff. There's a reason why there's some influx of people coming out of the wood work and translating Ecchi NTR novels and definitely not because 'muhlesson'
I understand liking stuff where the Protagonist does the NTR or I think 'Netori' is what people call it but getting cucked? I just don't get it and I will never will. But whatever everyone has their own poison.

I think it's because of the difference in how they read a story...
for example, when I'm reading a story I will try to imagine myself as the protagonist, so when the protagonist get hurt (NTRed, betrayed, ect) I will feel it too...
but for people that like Netorare they not imagining themselves as the protagonist, so for them it's just like seeing some other people got NTRed. Well, at least that's what my friend that enjoy watching anime NTR told me.
