That sly translator technique

  • #1
Just angered about a single thing.
Sometimes translators try to gain TL time by posting a little bit later and piling that over the days and weeks.
Meaning 7pm goes to 9pm, then 10pm30, then 11 and finally over 12 to post in the middle of early morning. At the end they just post in the middle of morning.
Resulting in them gaining over the weeks more time to translate and me losing about a day of chapter's worth.
Then my usual chill chaps at night transform into hurried day chaps when I have other things to do cause I can't restrain myself especially with a cliff waiting for me.

I'm getting chapters free for most of the time so I don't have the right to complain but at least be STRAIGHT about it and announce the change of time clearly instead of letting me check every tens of minutes for chaps that wil never be there.
Maybe I'm the only one who see things in that way, if so I'm sorry but if I'm not the only one then stop doing that.
A technique that I seldom see but that infuriates me greatly.

Eh, I delete my schedule to post because I know that I won't update it on time because real life. I tried implementing a schedule but real life didn't give a damn about my hobby.

LMAO that sly technique is called "procrastination". It's very common amongst people who have more important things to do.
There's also another very useful technique called "defenestration", allow me to demonstrate it to you:

Go learn the native language of the novel and you can make a new topic about how authors are doing the same thing.

1. Do you pay the translator personally as a commission?
2. Does the translator really specify the time (as in the hour) when he/she will post the TL?

If both the answer for the questions above are no, then personally I'd suck it up and let it go rather than grumbling it all the way.

TLr are humans with RL issues and stuffs to do too, so I just go 'Ah well, I'm just gonna browse around some more until he/she post it'.

Lol. You have a reading list here in NU.
Just check at night if your novel has updated.

You still get the chapter plus no hassle.

your own problem that you cant stockpile and wait to read at night.

I for one, throw away whatever I'm doing(be it class), to read updates when i find out they are out!

it's like enduring not doing gacha and saving up to the point that you can gacha 100 times in a game you like

it really is an annoying thing when I'm reading an ongoing novel (apart from the usual annoyance of only getting 1 chap with little plot progress per day)

one of the reasons I'm sticking to completed novels and novels with a lot of stacked up chapters
