YD is known to be smart and reliable but went to join the army five years ago to provide for the siblings. He would send money back to his siblings but for some reason the cash flow stopped two years ago. Some people think he died. Obviously he didn’t die lol. He appears quite frequently later on in the story. He’s really sad and devastated at what happened with his siblings. Long story short, he separated from his bro and found a place near his sister. Omg I forgot another important character, our Xiao Hei! He’s a comedy relief character haha XH is a roaster living in the Qi family. In the beginning, the family used XH as a substitute husband to perform the marriage ceremony because ML was too sick to get up. But our ML showed up at the last second because he didnt want to disrespect FL. XH’s second appearance was when ML was showing FL around the house (I think?). ML always sees XH as the roaster who almost performed the marriage rites with FL and always threatens to turn it into chicken soup lmao. Every time they meet, ML tells the servants to make a shuttlecock out of XH’s feather. XH later eats one of our FL’s medical plant which turns him into a spiritual (kind of) beast? Errrrr but like he doesn’t talk or anything, he just gets a bit smarter and lives longer lol. Like he can understand when our ML threatens to make chicken soup out of him and quickly runs away. So readers aren’t really told if the original YJ died or her spirit just left her body or whatnot. We basically know as much as our ginseng spirit FL knows, which is nothing lol. But it’s light-hearted fiction so lets just roll with it. FL obtains the original YJ memories but doesn’t really use it because YJ memories are always really sad and depressing. So orig YJ never comes back and the readers dont really know where she went. Well, I haven’t read the extra chapters but I’m pretty sure there’s no other mention of the orig YJ. There’s no love rivals at all for our characters. ML was sickly at birth and doctors said that he wouldn’t live long. So everyone, including ML, thought he was going to die. He was super pessimistic before he met our FL. He was always cold to everyone and doesn’t really warm up to other people. Honestly, he’s one of my favorite MLs. He was in charge of handling a few business’s records and would always half-heartedly do his work. He expected to die soon so he never put a lot of effort into anything. So our FL is a super foodie. She eats and sleep really well and everyone adores her for it. ML realized that he needed to make more money so that Fl can eat as much as she want. So very early on he became motivated to make money lol. Later on all his shop mangers would call ML the God of Wealth. He meets the crown prince later on in the story and traps develops a business relationship with him. ML is so good that crown prince always thinks its a shame that ML isn’t a politician.
It's adorable! Totally agree with northerner. It's a refreshing adorable need no big drama scheming break from all other chinese novels. It's been a while since I read it but I was able to mtl the novel and it didnt hurt my brain cells so much lol. SO MANY CUTE MOMENTS
