I read slightly over 200 chapters so far. MTL included as official is at 160ish.
Plotline is simple and not simple. In IET fashion, there is some faction wars in background you will only get some hints about ( as characters don't mention it to MC, instead of explanations, you get crucial tidbits like why the problems are how they are from the accusations the 2 sect supremacies ( highest rank in sect for most powerful person who, being Creation realm,have 2k years lifespan) spew at each other).
So, xianxia war of the worlds style so far. IET has little subtlety and instead chooses to only let some hints from time to time about why Demons invade and how they plan on winning, why humans are so militant ( holy shit, 800 years of losing 20ish Godfiends a year for each of the 3 major sects is bonkers. They actually had problems with spending more resources than came in at certain points due to urgency in raising more disciples to a needed quality to slay invading Demon Monarchs. Which is why things are as they are right now in MC's lifetime).
MC powers - painting ( no seriously, his (Essence) Soul gets stronger due to his painting reaching the Dao Seeking state and his saber arts are actually developing slower despite the many ways to teach him those, but painting just comes so naturally to him it doesn't matter nobody can guide him in it. Saber arts develop due to a really tried and tested regime ( when a highest leveled expert tells you how to go about it, picks saber arts most suitable and lets you pick which to go about learning first with advice on % of how easy it will be to master for each option, the training environment is varied and goes to a deep level, it still goes up enough MC fights melee, not from afar).
Recently, he got a body cultivation legacy that covers his greatest flaw (shit defense and life preservation means once his immense speed gets tied down by an enemy) and includes nifty things like super strength, ultra toughness, fast regen and more time to advance ( others lose physical potency as they age which drops their % of advancement because of a frailer body, his will retain peak potency even near end of his lifespan, theoretically). Future body refining perks - undying ( no weak spot, not even dantian or head or heart), rebirth from blood drop ( limit due to poor world resources for body refiners), his strength will of course continue to grow at each realm. Body refining also needs Essence Soul at very beginning (his lucky chance found system of it) so it filling gaps in his cultivation he left on purpose ( Godfiend system doesn't have all rounder option,so he went for his most suited, speed at costof defense, strength, domain, regen....) is perfect and supremacies who actually were unsatisfied with this ( to them, that legacy counts as average fortune for a rare chance) had idiot ball in that scene as for MC, it covers all he lacks ( his soul is super easy due to talent, and he almost kills himself/drives himself close to madness from risk and pain his saber arts/Godfiend system need to advance) + al, it takes is time and resources.
He can attack with a soul weapon ( mtl where I got, this is secret shit that would get him killed if found out, Demons most hate geniuses at Essence Soul cultivation area), his (3rd level of 8, theoretical 9th) soul can travel out at night outside his body ( sunlight would harm it greatly like it does to bonafide ghosts) and said wandering at night is also training for the soul as his first time at leaving his body is dangerous despite the protection (he sits down in a shut room and makes sure there isn't even a draft, leaves his body and the Essence Soul(MC) feels a slight wind still that causes it immense pain like knives all over that takes a while getting used to before it can even come out on a peaceful, windless night). Future soul powers- possession ( last ditch thing, no good from MC pov, as problems from old soul in new body mean one can only recultivate to pre death levels and not farther no matter what), illusions despite not cultivating a Mirage Fiend body, one of conditions for higher cultivation realm of his main path ( Godfiend system) is ever higher levels of Essence Soul ( 5 being needed to rise to level of Supremacy, strongest protector of Archean Mt sect), killing certain level of Godfiend/Skydemon/Demon Monarch with a mere thought,...
Oh, and if he ever reached 8th level of Essence Soul, the Supremacy of his sect who guided him speculates MCs power could be enough to end the ongoing war with demons that lasted 8 centuries due to ( world portals opening, closing only if unstable which is useless as such portals only allow weak demons pass anyway and portals that allow Demon Monarchs pass are stable theoretically forever, open in ever greater numbers, randomly so undersea and hidden in wild like remote mountains or caves, middle of defenseless human village/city,... and demons have such numbers advantage they toy with humanity's united forces for the sake of weakening Demon world's overpopulation problem, and making demon monarchs ( who are many, but have lower talent than humas for later stages of cultivation that needs Essence Soul that can only be developed by yourself or inherited from an end tier expert if they are selfless enough to mutilate a bit of their own Essence Soul for your sake at your birth).
Thing with Essence Soul is levels of it bear name that indicates ability gained through greater power and cohesion/constitution of soul. 1st was a passive scan of surroundings and self ( immensely useful detector), 2nd was bigger range of scan and small telekinesis, 3rd is Night Wandering that also grants one needed soul power to train a soul weapon ( killing an enemy's consciousness, that can only be defended by willpower and Essence Soul, and ES is super rare with MC growth of it being way ahead of curve), train some mystery techniques ( no description or usage scenes so far),...
Oh, and Soul Power which develops with every ES power up, increases body control (percentage boost), energy control ( ten times ), speed and power ( all of which need active use and thus drain of sp), easier breakthrough with greater chance of success. SP also has some "flaws". It gets harder to use it to sense the denser the obstacle ( air easy, water mid, earth hard to near useless) making range of scan shorter, Demons are desperate to report to their HQ as this is a must kill target for whoever has it among humans when just a moment ago they only cared about escaping alive or killing MC, can only train through willpower (super slow and ineffective), special ramshackle training technique ( even top class world sect hasn't got anything better than this, Demons unknown), Dao Seeking ( becoming so good at some skill, you can ask your ES questions through it. Could be MC's Painting, any other art field, most people arrive at Dao Seeking through weapon skills which sucks as questions and answers come easily to arts, but not martial arts ones like weapon use as "answers" are emotional in nature). Art can't be trained to Dao Seeking. The sects tried, but can't hack it, so MC is special in that view.
Cultivation is longtime legacy ( oldest mentioned cult. art is from 30 000 years ago, and top experts live like 2k ).

If you haven't guessed already, their territory is a bunch of islands. They are also pissed because 1 of the other 2 big sects tried to exterminate them ( because island sect's founder was a traitor of exterminator sect right when ext sect's then leaderwas close to conquering the world).

Well read till 532 (end of the war agains demons) he and his wife ( the archer girl from start) have 2kid (boy-girl ) the girl have a boy later, his wife will be put in the 1000year ice so with her 50year lifespan can survive till he can save her, the guy already emperor level (8lvl) and his clone went to space and fight with emperors and venerables ( creation realm) and dont have harem, his mother alive but lives in temple cuze achestor forbid reuniom cuze lost virginity to his father later when the guy reach venerables they let hi father and mom reunit and live together..
