I tried to MTL a bit but this is hard to understand. There is a lot of names and not every name. but before I give up I read that the second prince was after MC, because she is the number one beauty and he is the one that going to be empire. he was overwhelmed with narcissism and was thinking who could have her but him

So, I try to mtl this a bit last night. From my understanding, there is romance and just one ML (since the one from arc 1 was the same in arc 2)
The first arc starts at chapter 2 and ends at chapter 32. That's my understanding of it. Feel free to correct me
The mc is the legitimate child of the general and the princess -the emperor's sister. She was supposed to have a smooth life, marry the second prince who will later become the crown prince and emperor. But once, her shu sister had a transmigrated soul in her, the story changed. In the original, the shu sister was supposed to later marry an official and have a peaceful life. However, the transmigrated soul wanted more than that. She wanted everything the di sister had and so, she seduced the second prince, created many difficulties for the di sister, later she married the prince, made in sort that the general -her father- got exiled (I think), the sister was demoted(?), the princess was secluded in her place and later died. The mc is now here to arrange that.
Anyway, when the mc came, the original had already been pushed in that crowded place and she fell. She was now seated in an isolated place, actually waiting for the sister. Sure enough, the other came with tears in her eyes saying that it was her fault, she failed to prevent her from going to that crowded place. The second prince came then and the sister cried even more, appearing pitiful, so the prince asked what happened, she proceeded to tell her version. The idiot liked beauties, ofc he sided with her, asking the mc to not be unreasonable, that it wasn't the sister's fault. The mc left the place, while her servant was angry on her behalf.
Mc asked the system if she had to be with that kind of prince. She was very much unwilling. System said that there was no appointed "Lord of the world." she was free to do as she liked. She thought then about the other children of the emperor to select the most suitable to be the next emperor. None of them met the requirements. She then remembered that there is one actually. The first prince.
The events that happened were reported to her mother. She got angry and was quite reluctant now to have her daughter marry that kind of man. Her daughter would suffer many grievances if she did so. The general agreed with her thinking. Actually, the marriage was just an oral contract set by the queen when then original!mc was born, there was no edict. The parents started discussing how the would break it.
A few days later, the mother took the mc to a temple, when she got better. -Her foot was sprained when she fell maybe?- The sister followed, even though the princess didn’t like her she actually convinced the other to take her along. By this time, the sister was already set on having the second prince.
The mc knew the story of the world so she knew that there was a special resident in this temple, the first prince, Ji Yu. He was the son of the first queen? (Well, I didn’t understand that much). Anyway, it was the emperor that disguised him and had him stay in this temple since he was ten years old -poor kid-. In the original story, he spent his life as a monk his whole lifetime.
The Mc purposedly went to his yard and when they met, she lied about being distracted by the mountains’ beauties wandering without paying attention. She claimed to be tired and asked for some water. She had recognized who he was because he looked a bit like the second prince.
He invited her and gave her tea that she drank even though her servants warned her that it was of unknown origins. In the beginning, she just wanted to chat a little but soon found that they had similar points of view and unconsciously talked for an hour. It was time to go, and he proposed to see her out for her not to get lost.
They heard voices and saw the second prince and the sister flirting. Seeing her staring, Ji Yu asked if she knew them, which she denied and continued walking. They parted then saying goodbyes.
Back to his residence, the ML (Ji Yu)’s face changed. The usual indifferent expression and the compassionate smile left the place to cold and chilling eyes. He asked about the woman's identity to be checked and also her relationship with his brother with a cold and hard voice. From the corner of the room, a voice sounded yes and left in a breeze.
Alone, he poured himself a cup of tea, reminiscing her. He lived alone for more than ten years so few things actually affected him, and the mc was one of them it seemed.
Back to the mc when her mother saw that her face didn’t look good she ask what happened. Actually, the original!mc would always keep shut about things that tormented her. The mc wasn’t willing to do that. So now that her mother was asking, she rushed to her and cried in her arms. The mother is panicked but still, the mc didn’t answer, crying much more. Why? The more the grievances, the greater the mother’s anger would be of course! The mother could only ask the servants, to which the recounted the events. The princess is angry. Even in a temple, these people dared! Even knowing that she wasn’t far.
The mother asked the mc if she really liked the second prince to which the mc whispered that she didn’t really know, to her mother’s relief. The mother estimated that today’s grievances were certainly due to losing face, quite happy that she wouldn’t have to spend much efforts to persuade her daughter to stop liking the man. She consoled her child, saying that these two people didn’t deserve her tears.
The asked informations are delivered to the ML who now knew the identity of the mc. Actually, the princess even though he had been “banished” in this temple was of the few people that still cared and was concern about him so he was grateful to her. He decided to help and since the sister wanted to climb his brother’s bed, he was ready to help her.
The princess reported to the general what she knew, the other is shocked and angry, ready to punish the sister. But his wife calmed him down instead, asking how they should break that marriage affair between their daughter and the second prince.
Actually, the princess and the general were very much in love with each other; It seemed like the sister’s mother took advantage when the general was drunk to climb his bed, and afterward hid her pregnant state until the baby was born. Although his wife said that she didn’t mind, the general felt that he owed her thus couldn’t afford to like the sister.
They didn’t get to think too much that they were summoned to the palace. The emperor said something like he and the queen had similar dreams. Something about the moon and the sun. Supposedly the future emperor and empress. His dream led to think that the second prince would be named crown prince and the future empress lived in the general’s residence (something like this I think). The princess was a devout buddhist and dreams like these couldn’t be taken lightly but she was unwilling to let her daughter marry the second prince. She asked her brother if he didn’t hallucinate actually. The emperor glared at her, saying that he wasn’t old enough for that moreover the queen also had the same dream.
Anyway, after, he looked quite embarrassed when looking at his sister, saying that his decision was for the good of the country, making her panicked. Actually, in his dream, the empress was located in the sister’s yard, so the shu sister was to enter the palace. Sisters didn’t share a man then the oral contract between them must be broken. And while he kept talking guiltily he had no idea how happy his sister was. It turned out the news were good! Her daughter was saved and even more, the troublesome person was going! Anyway, the mother kept her composure enough to listen to what her brother was saying. As compensation it seemed, her daughter get a seal? (Not too sure). Seeing that wife and husband weren’t refuting the emperor was even more guilty and grew even more generous. The couple happily went back.
The mc was informed. The mother noted the look of joy on her daughter’s face, completely calmed down.
Although happy, the mc still questioned the system. After all, all this drama about dream didn’t happen previously, to which the system replied that there was no abnormal situation. Well, she didn’t care.

News were announced. The sister was to enter the palace. The mc became a governor with her very own seal -a never seen thing before-
