I seriously don’t like Baek Cheon, she is too selfish. Ye Hwa deserves better than taking her place. Doesn’t she guilty at all that Ye Hwa has to become her shield at everything!! Anyway I hope some spoilers about the ending I can’t stand her any longer I felt like my veins will pop.
Who’s the FL? Both? Seems like there are two guys, potential MLs, but both seem to like the maid/YH. Who ever get demoted to 2nd ML, will be “given” to the princess? Since their faces are the same?
I don’t know if this has a novel but I read the webtoon until the latest english tl update So from what I have read, BC and YH were born on the same time and grew up as a sister. BC the princess was a bit unruly, frank, extrovert, bitchy? Naive and was really good in martial arts. On the other hand, YH the maid has a princess-like demeanour, much kinder, smart, introvert and much good in literature. In the backstory, the reason why YH was good in literature because of BC. She hates attending to class that’s why she forces YH to substitute fo her while BC is taking up martial arts. BC’s family was from a fallen nobility although she was a pureblood princess. BC doesn’t want to get married to the emperor(cause he’s older, around 50 years old I think) and also she wants to get married to someone she loves. So she forces YH to act as the princess while she acts as her maid. YH reluctantly agreed because during that time she has no dream or decided future for herself. BC thought that they will live in the palace comfortably because she’s a “princess”. But when they get to the palace One of the most favoured consort, Gye, started to bully them. BC was shocked because they were not respected and thought that their rank there should be based on the status you’re born with( basically if you were a princess before you get married then you should be at the top. Most of emperor’s consorts and concubine were from officials’ family. So BC’s rank is higher than them cause she’s a princess). They were slapped by the reality that the emperor decides their status and not them. There are 2 possible ML for YH. One is the 8th prince born from a low level status woman (she’s not a maid irc). They met first when YH was still a maid and was doing her errands outside. She bumped into him coz he was stealing some dumplings. I think the prince fell for her at first sight. YH introduces herself as the princess’ maid. It was said that the 8th prince was good in both literature and martial arts but he pretended to be a womanizer so that they will not be targeted. It was also mentioned that the emperor likes him a bit but the 8th prince treats him more like an emperor than a father. The second ML is Inho/Imho. There was a glimpsed that he came from a western tribe and was the only survivor. He met YH during the procession to the capital. He was injured in the leg and was obstructing the procession. Imho was supposed to be killed but YH (disguised as BC) stopped the servant from killing him. She told them that it was a bad luck to spill some blood during the wedding. Also it was YH who personally treats him that’s why Imho decided to become her servant. At first, YH rejected Imho because she doesn’t know what would happen to them in the palace. But Imho still followed them, walking at the end of the procession even though he was limping. YH pitied him and accepts him as a servant In the latest chapter, I think there might be a possibility for BC to like Imho because he was observing her. It happened when during the procession BC got bored inside the carriage ( she was acting as YH the maid) and wants to ride a horse because she saw Imho riding beside them. Then Imho noticed the similarity between YH and BC and questioned her why did she called YH( who was acting as BC) by her true name. The fire happened during one of their stay in a inn. The mastermind was imperial noble consort Gye. So the fire started to spread in their room. YH protected BC while looking for a way for them to escape. Suddenly the 8th prince came and YH forces him to save BC first. 8th prince carried BC and left her in Imho’s care. Then BC suddenly shouted something like “ save Ye Hwa”. The 8th prince then saved YH Imho is still suspicious of their identity. He also questioned that they are super close, more like friends than princess and servant. The 8th prince can identify who’s who but did not know that YH is acting as BC. There was a scene after the fire was put out and the YH( acting as BC)was resting. 8th prince friend/ subordinate tried to ask about YH’s like and interest ( for the sake of the 8th prince) when he bumped into BC (acting as YH). Since BC was raised as prideful noble even if she was acting as a maid, she slaps the subordinates hand when the latter puts it in her shoulder. Then the subordinate got interested at her. Moving on, when BC rides together with Imho ( cause she was bored in the carriage). The subordinate got jealous and pointed her out to the 8th prince but the 8th prince was like “ No, that’s not YH”.
