The way the recent chapters are - it's reminding me of Bleach.. but of course Berserk is still great, just that the newer chapters are not so awesome..

Ouch, yeah I am wondering too how exactly Gash will go about taking out Femto if not even that sword could defeat him, and yay for new arc.

Nothing is for sure. I doubt he'd have tried to block it if he felt the attack wouldn't hurt him. Still, it seems a god reborn has greater tactics of defense than a normal one. You'll just have to wait until Guts or SK find away around this power to harm one of the Godhand.
