if only griffith kept his mouth shut. so if he doesn't see his "valuable comrades" as friends, what does he see them as? subordinates? that's just sad, especially with everyone risking their lives for him. especially guts, who is devoting himself to griffith and his ambitions. griffith's ideology of what a true friend is is quite interesting, though i can't really agree with it. shouldn't a true friend support your dreams and help you attain it? it seems like guts has always thought of him as an equal, a friend. but that was only just a one-sided feeling. poor guts.
