Berserk Chapter 26 Discussion

I fvcking hate how MAL ordered the chapter discussions for Berserk. We should be talking about Adonis and the assassination plot in the Chapter 11 discussion, not the Chapter 26 discussion. But if you go to the actual Chapter 11 discussion, it's filled with banter relating to the Slug Count arc. UGH.



WHY couldn't someone make Chapters 0A-0P discussions... and now people are screwing things up further and making it complicated by counting 11 chapters after Chapter 0P (which some people consider Chapter 16, wtf) and leaving their opinions here.



I only bring that all up because there's a little debate on this forum about someone leaving unrelated comments here.



ANY who, I really did feel awful after Guts murdered the kid. This was his first big mistake (chronologically) in the entire manga. He fvcked up really bad. Sure Guts isn't known for his grace or elegance but a mistake like this... ooo. I'm sure he wouldn't have minded if it were a hostile adult, but you could tell he really sympathized with Adonis during his sword-training with his father, and thus Adonis is probably the last person Guts would've wanted to have stumbled upon him murdering whatshisface. Still... even if Guts was able to figure out who the silhouette was BEFORE stabbing Adonis, who's to say Adonis wouldn't freak out and scream? I could honestly see Guts having no choice but to end up murdering Adonis in the alternate scenario. I feel like the death was inevitable. But it's a shame Guts had to kill the kid like this. Aw man oh geez.

Boy, Guts is really shook up after killing the kid. I think it's not so much him killing the kid, though, as it is him seeing a bit of himself in the kid. The scene with his face on Zodd's body is him thinking of himself as a monster? Great stuff, I couldn't help but wonder what went through Adonis' mind as he died. The way there was no dialogue in that scene aside from Gut's saying "hey" really added to the impact.



Brilliant.

His first official assassination, and he killed a kid. Great job, Guts.

iit would be better  you learn to read/reckon better "my friend"!! In the Berserk manga The Battle For Doldrey (4) is the number 26, and if you calculate for the begining, the chapter witout numbers the number 26 is  "Assassin (3)" and not (4) ... or better, forget me, and don´t read my opinions "my friend"!!!

Guts makes such a shitty assassin. He's not a thinker. Why didn't he try to get the dude from long-range? He can use a cross-bow right? He just popped up and slashed away, making so much noise, not even behind the guy, but right in front! That kid and those guards died because of his brashness.
