i think you can pick up TRC from the anime at volume 14, but the anime is terrible compared to the manga.

TRc is quite different from xxxholic, is such a great read but it contains shitloads of angst. Is soooo depressing!

I'm confused about watanuki's parents as well. And about the egg!

Good to hear that the manga is better, but that's almost always the case.  I think I was waiting to finish the anime, before starting the manga, but I lost interest in it somewhere along the way.  Shitloads of angst, huh?  Hehe, well I'll have to see if I can get through it, I put off finishing I''s and Video Girl Ai, because it was getting to be too much/repetitive.  But i still plan to go back and finish all of them...eventually.



Normally xxxHOLiC is fairly self contained, and the crossovers have little impact on the overall story, but that changed with this last chapter.  I wonder if they are gonna continue this, and the changes Watanuki has been going through are for a climax that will impact TRC only.  It's possible that they are building to a climax that combines the 2 series.  Might be better for readers of xxxHOLiC only, if they went the traditional route. Just have Watanuki disappear for a couple of chapters, then concentrate on some of the other characters, maybe do a time jump until he comes back.  I think the crossovers are a nice idea, adds a little more depth to the CLAMP universe, but I'd like to see HOLiC build to something big on it's own.



And about the egg, I assume there is another one in TRC since shiro Mokona is holding one on the cover.  Is there a connection to the one in Doumeki's possession, the one that supposedly does nothing?

The stories are getting more intertwined. I have a hypothesis but I could be wrong. I'll just wait until the end to see what happens.

Watanuki stars dreaming again and talks with Sakura,-long chat about not much apart from the fact that Sakura let us know that she knows what's happening in Celes and that she forgives Fay (she is wiser than that bad tempered git Kurogane)- then he sees R!Syaoran in Celes who is in the same position he has been. He looks up to Watanuki and tells him "Don't disappear." So we suppose that that's the moment when Syaoran collapses in TRC.O.o Then Watanuki wakes up to Doumeki bent down next to him in the same position Kurogane was with R!Syaoran. And Watanuki tells Doumeki that he doesn't remember his parents names.O.O

It was a good chapter but is not as exciting as Kurogane trying to kill Fay/Ashura? or do whatever he's going to do in TRC. And what's with the egg?

Interesting, makes me want to read TRC.  But I'm not sure I want read through all that beginning stuff, since I watched most of TRC.  What I really want to know is the meaning/reason behind Watanuki not remembering his parent's name.  Now that I try to think about it, I don't even recall Clamp ever giving us Watanuki's parents' names.

mmm i haven't seen an egg at all in TRC. I agree with you that Watanuki is going to play an important rol in TRC in the near future. I  would not mind if XXXholic didn't crossover with TRC at all, is such a great manga on its own, and very different to TRC, a lot more fun to read (if TRC continues going the way its going i'll have to go to a psychiatrist and i'm sending CLAMP the bill!)
