I don't know why you felt the need to agree once more with my arguments, but thank you anyway. It's very generous coming from you.

I found it really interesting that Shunsui started wearing the hairpins and kimono after Nanao's parents die. He said previously that he didn't get along that well with his brother before his brother married, and it doesn't seem like he was that close with Nanao's mom either other than the fact that he napped on their porch a lot.



So perhaps he accepted Nanao's mom's sword and whatnot was because he was shocked that she could have changed his brother for the better; maybe even has to do with his relationship with his sword, but I don't think that would have been the case at that point. So why else would Shunsui agree to protect Nanao, and then wear the hairpins and kimono to show that he wouldn't forget his promise?

Shunsui wore a different kimono and no hairpins when she met nanao, he didn't want to give anything away about her mother, he then gradually shifted into his normal style again.



Yamajii's captain commander position is also another of the thing he's been entrusted with or he takes it upon himself without them needing to say it, that's why he took care of nanao too even thou he wasn't obligated to do so.

Lille has already been weakened a bit, the sword dissipated some of his energy when it cut his arm.

Pretty sad background for Shunsui :( but the ending makes me hyped for the next chapter!
