Shinigami genocided Quincies.



Survivors and the quincy leader hid in the shadow dimension  for centuries planning to get back at SS.



YHWH's motives are unknown, but most quincies just want revenge.



Was there any particular reason why the Shinigami eradicated the Quincies?

Quincies had methods to KILL Hollows instead of purifying and reincarnating them. This was deemed evil because it upsets the balance of souls  between Earth and SS(which in turn somehow hurts the Soul King, we don't know how).



So the order was given to eradicate the threat. In this case that meant eradicating entire race(well its more like a religion than a race, but still)



We do not know any more details, but the old war and reasons for it was enough for most of the "in the know" shinigami to view both sides as "wrong".

the reason why the balance of souls must be kept is because if its not then SS & the world of the living will collide, and pretty much kill everyone living or dead.



as far as Juha's reasons for this war. we don't really know, they say its because he needs new souls to keep him from regressing or whatever. however if thats the only reason then why is he in the RR. i think he has some other motive aside from the whole needing souls thing.

Shinigami powers are generally "different ways to blow stuff up", with some unique ones, while their main focus is durability.

Quincies are all about haxx, but their bodies are for most part human-like.

A whole lot of Science, this chapter had. Nice of Kirinji to finally do something productive. And Askin seems to be down for the count. Dare I say things seem to be going too smoothly for the Royal Guard.
