Sooo....

Now that the hollow is pulled out of him and turned into a zanpaktou, does that mean that when he goes BANKAI he will go throush some Hollow-fication??? One that he can control and doesn't go all bunkers and bad breath....

Cool chapter, I knew the resemblance wasn't just a coincidence.

Damn though, it was him from 1,000 years ago?! How old is this guy.

Really damn curious if his new Zanpakuto will still contain Zangetsu or someone else. Since it appears it is made from the same Hollow that used to be inside of Ichigo. l

If that was Bach's younger form, then what's tensa zangetsu? (baby form? lol) Anyway, can't wait for chan-Ichi's new sword. More like, I want to see his hollow form talking again.

Glad to see the connection wasn't just coincidence. Better than last weeks chapter.

lol they already explained in that same chapter that the reason ishida was able to use ichigo to power up his bow was because ichigo had terrible spiritual control and was unknowingly leaking a bunch of energy for ishida to absorb. That had nothing to do with ichigo being a quincy or old man being the embodiment of his quincy powers. Stop picking bits and pieces of unrelated past scenes and trying to pass them off as foreshadowing. This is wrong. Uryuu said it was impossible for him to have that much reiatsu all the time. It's even the chapter where they illustrate the difference between Shinigami and Quincy methods of using reiatsu (Shinigami are supposed to fight like this ->->->, and Quincy are supposed to fight like this<-<-<-.) The whole reason Ichigo had so much reiatsu was not because he was some kind of prodigy Shinigami, it's because he was absorbing surrounding reiatsu like a Quincy (I don't think the fact that this concept was directly referenced in this chapter is a coincidence.)

"If he can't control his power, it means he's not using his power." -Uryuu, Ch. 49

Think about it. What was shown to happen when someone who really DOES have a great amount of INTERNAL reiatsu was around? It results in that crushing reiatsu that distorts the surroundings of the picture/panels and makes weaker people unable to even walk or move. If Ichigo had been using that much internal reiatsu, Uryuu (And Rukia for that matter) would have been flat on the ground.

The idea that outside forces merely acted as a trigger for Ichigo's massive interal reiatsu to be released actually makes LESS sense.

(Possibly related, I don't think the sudden blue light/energy that briefly revived and surrounded Ichigo during his first fight with Renji was ever explained.)

And if you still don't like that example, someone else already came up with a bunch more:

It was setup even MORE obviously in the Fullbring arc in preparation for this one. Ichigo's first Fullbring throwing thingy (The projectile) is shaped like a Quincy cross. The new Zanpakuto resembles an enlarged Quincy blade.

There are other examples of lengthy foreshadowing in Bleach (Shinji's introduction showing him upside down, him writing his name backwards in class, and then 200 chapters later we see the reason when his Shikai is revealed.)

If Juha Bach was inside Ichigo because he has quincy blood in him, so... why did Ichigo dad can use the same skill as him.. unless.. his dad is also a quincy + shinigami. So Zangetsu was inside both of them. Which is twin zanpaktou which is actually both fake zanpaktou.. so Ichigo dad might not even realise the fact that he might have another true zanpaktou or the fact that he is half quincy too?

Zangetsu is actually "Hichigo" ("White") so he was using his power but Ichigo was confusing Juha with Zangetsu and Hichigo with a Hallow (well he is actually a hallow but in the same time his zanpaktou lol)

You can try to rationalize it all you want but the truth of the matter is old man "zangetsu" WAS ichigo's zanpakuto spirit throughout this entire manga up until this recent arc when kubo decided to change his character.

He taught ichigo shikai. He synced up with ichigo to defeat kenpachi. He manifested during his bankai training. And again in a younger form while learning final getsuga. "White" however has done nothing but act like how all other inner hollows were said to, trying to take over as the lead consciousness. What makes it even more frustrating is that ichigo's quincy blood was supposed to be completely dormant throughout this story, but yet Old man "zangetsu" was there at the forefront within ichigo's soul since day 1...

Whatever, It's kubo's story and he's free to do what he wants with his characters i guess. He can make Don Kanoji the spirit king in the next chapter if he wanted to and we would all just have to run with it lol.

In the last chapter Nimaiya Oetsu said the hollow inside Ichigo's soul is his zanpakuto. Maybe thanks to his powers of quincy Ichigo succeeded to materialise, his zanpakuto (the hollow) in a shape of sword  like Juha Bach did against Yamamoto. (chapter  510)

Zangetsu didn't teach Ichigo his shikaï, he only said his name and Ichigo invoked it, that's all. ^We have go with this explanation NOW, but my point was that prior to this arc old man zangetsu's character was the zanpakuto spirit and nothing else, but the author has apparently decided to change that fact. There was no foreshadowing that zangestu was something other than ichigo's zanpakuto, which leads me to believe that this change in character was not planned back then.
