Mahou Sensei Negima! Chapter 280 Discussion

well now that negi's party is finally about to attack Fate's place and then go home (and save a world in the meantime) i estimate that there's only like one day left until they get back. It might become 2 days if they go get some decent sleep first and finish a random 'side quest' though. On the other hand, this upcoming day is going to take at least 40 or so chapters, with at least ten of them constituting some major battle. This last arc will then be as long as all of the other arcs combined.



however, we still don't really know what Fate's goal is. When negi and fate met just as they were going to the magic world, it's clear that fate didn't anticipate their meeting together. But if this is so, then they couldn't have gotten Asuna and proceeded to wipe out the world. It's only if fate knew that negi and asuna would eventually come or already had gone to the magic world that his plan (the world rewritten one) would work, and that he didn't anticipate meeting negi so early.

Step 1: Give former useless character the dues ex machina.

Step 2: Have her fight and even force a previously undefeated enemy into a retreat.

Step 3: Have her reveal the way to bring back deceased characters.



Despite this very...predictable plot point, Nodoka was still good.



Things seem a bit easy though, and we still need our good ol' Asuna back.

Now they have to find the Grand key..

nodoka's ability is the kind of ability that when a character has it, they end up getting killed for it. also yue's ability falls into that category. if they don't die, they end up losing their abilities. i wonder how this will play out.



i wonder how the tone will change when one of them actually dies.

the girls were pretty badass this chapter.

Too bad she's not an attacking mage, but still Nodoka owned Dynamis in an awesome way with her artifact and HIS artifact. Too bad he had some random teleport magic even without the key. At least we could see that Setsuna's new artifact seems to be linked to Konoka, getting more powerful the more magic it recieves from her.

Now the party needs to follow Nodoka-sama's guidance into finding the Master Key of the Magic World in order to revive all the fallen NPCs and the unlimited HP system bug that Rakan is XD

Oh wow, Nodoka and her "My counterattack starts now" line was brilliant! xD I respect her character much more now. The stealing of that giant staff too, awesome ;D



Ahhh, we keep getting hinted about Setsu's new artifact but we still don't know what it exactly does. I doubt it's just a sword that's powered by Konoka...I wish to see it's ability! D;



Everyone really kicked butt this chapter, and they're finally catching onto the fake Asuna matter...
