I knew my hope was nothing more than a fantasy, they don't tend to pull that audience power up to have said power up person lose. Oh well, it was a decent fight & I'm looking forward to the next battle.At least she got knocked out of the tournament do to to her injury. What does it take to please you?

I gotta say, out of all my posts in this discussion thread so far, this is probably the worst one to post "What does it take to please you?" So first off, me being upset that Mana losing was not like, legitimate criticism of the series & the fact that I was upset is proof that the series was doing something good. It means I liked a character enough to root for them & that I was invested in the current going-on's of the chapter. My main issue with the fight was how they framed her victory around Negi's "You can do it". It just wasn't a real satisfying turn of events. The first half of my sentence was written because I wanted continuity in-between my post while also injecting some of my personal preference, while the second half of that sentence was meant to express my actual problem with the fight. "Decent fight" & "looking forward to the next battle" aren't pejorative sentiments either. Especially as I get older, & action becomes less & less appealing to me.
As an aside to this, I'm not sure if you're getting annoyed at my negativity but I'm glad you're commenting regardless. Not only is it nice to provide a counter-point for any new readers who might be going through the threads but I like discussing most media anyway (though my faulty memory doesn't leave me with much). Anyway, I believe I mentioned it in a discussion thread here before (I want to say during the Wilhelm arc) but I also didn't really like creating a lot of Negima threads only to complain. But I'm someone who enjoys going through the discussion threads & reading a consensus so whenever I see no discussion thread for it, I like to start one just in case anyone out there is like me.
