GetBackers Chapter 302 Discussion

                        Really great chapter, I love that Kaiser's final smoke required both his strongest relationships with Paul and Ban. Paul providing the cigarette himself since he's been the closest support Kaiser's head, and Ban providing the flame, because he's the motivator that got Kaiser to burn. The flashback showing why Ban's mom considered him a demon child and basically disowned him makes a lot of sense, that is a graphic scene Ban caused (likely in protection of her mother). Kaiser asking him to hate him in the flashback feels like it wasn't just to serve as a drive for Ban to get strong enough to break his curse, but as a plea to forgive his mother. Thus the final question he asks Ban, and that exchange is simple but sweet. A touching send-off, especially with Ban's "The smoke's getting in my eyes".
