GetBackers Chapter 29 Discussion

                        Thus ends the Sound of Life arc, definitely my favourite of the four arcs so far. It just has the most going on, the Jagan reveal was the most lengthy con of the series thus far and was pretty satisfying, and while I don't think the action was anything noteworthy (Ginji vs. Akabane is probably the only good fight so far), each fight typically had at least a cool moment in it or so. It also comes down to Shido and Madoka, I've always enjoyed their relationships, and both characters are great. I like that Madoka is more pro-active in this arc, actively helping them though Shido is obviously the bigger highlight. I like animals myself too, so I always liked that aspect of his character, I like his relationship with Madoka and find his dynamic with Ban to be really amusing, and his ties to Ginji is nice. It's interesting that he said in the last chapter that Ginji hadn't changed a bit, since it seemed like he was a different person prior to leaving the Infinity Fortress and leaving the Volts, but I guess he remained the happy giddy person around his friends regardless.



As for the final chapter itself, I really liked that Ban want out of his way to mess with Akutsu, the ending would've felt a little less complete without his comeuppance. And I liked the final scene with Shido and Madoka, her saying he was blushing was cute but I also really like the bit where she say she tries to imagine the beauty of the world and turn it to music so she can experience it, and Shido asking to hear it so he could hear her beauty is a pretty sweet way to end things.
