GetBackers Chapter 189 Discussion

                        If the last chapter was to set up for the future, this one seems to be thrust us back in this story with promise of some very needed developments. But first, I liked Ginji and Akabane's argument here quite a bit, and Kazuki and crew as a lot more damage than they let on to Ginji but it is impressive that they manage to defeat as many as Akabane did without killing a single one. I'm interested in seeing the interplay between Akabane and Ginji now, in the Infinity Fortress arc their relationship was mostly used for levity. So far, there's been some of that, but it's been more serious this time around, looking forward to that.



But Shido has finally come into play, meeting up with Kazuki. It's no surprise that he's been assisting them all this time, and I rather like how Ryuho insisted that Shido did tell them, and asserting that there's no way the information will leave the spot. Definitely seems like quite the bad-ass. Despite this arc centering around Shido's conflict, he's been rather sparse thus far, so I'm glad that he's finally entering the fray and especially glad that we're finally get some answers. Amon being the linchpin to their plan can hardly be considered a surprise considering his powers.
