GetBackers Chapter 162 Discussion

                        The next big arc of GetBackers, the wiki noted this as the second major arc (though Divine Design seemed pretty major to me) and what a fantastic start. The beginning with Professor telling Ban that it's almost time for everything to be revealed is very exciting, Ban's been the greatest source of mystery in GetBackers, and considering how's Ginji's starting to feel bad about always relying on him, the disagreement here, and the name of the arc, The Eternal Bond, I'm really hopeful that this arc will be digging into the core of their relationship.



But let's ignore them now, because Shido is now really worried about Madoka and his  war with the Kiriudo and is seemingly going to attack them before anything happens it seems (that or he's certain he'll be attacked soon). Shido and Ban's dynamic's always been pretty interesting, and this is one of the times where there arguing isn't comedic, or loud. Seeing Shido prostrate himself to Ban of all people speak volumes to how much this means to him, and Ban's flat rejection "I have no interest in seeing you beg. Stop acting like a fool and leave her" was cold, for all his snake themes, those words held the most venom. Ban's "I know how much it takes for a man to get down on his knees and beg" holds a weight of it's own, certainly this rings true to Ban's past. Maybe something to do with Miroku.



And unrelated to all that, Akabane being involved is a big plus.
