GetBackers Chapter 161 Discussion

                        Thus ends the Marine Red arc, and a pretty great ending to boot. The backstory stuff with Maria was great, and the tying to the real world usage of the atomic bomb was a nice touch, I love the somber panels of Ban and Ginji after he mentions Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The message from Blood was great too, especially it's potential to be taking either way, though I choose to believe he meant it in the nice way.



I was initially annoyed at Ishikura billing them. The GetBackers being perpetually broke is fine I guess but considering how at peace he was with the resolution and how much they did, it was irritating to see him be so stingy against them (not to mention they saved him from the Yakuza). But thankfully, Ishikura actually intended to pay them the ten million indirectly with the wine, but they were just stupid and opened them, costing them the money. That was a lot more clever and fun.
