GetBackers Chapter 150 Discussion

                        My favourite episode of the anime featured Ginji following his sandwich off the roof and getting hospitalized. I was told this was anime original and while the anime version definitely had a lot more going on and different jokes, it was definitely taking from here and this was one of the funniest chapters. The highlight was Juubei being rolled by and interjecting that Ban won in the least honorable way ever then saying "hi I'm taking a cat scan talk to you later" followed by dead silence was hilarious.



And of course, Akabane coming to visit Ginji was hilarious. Quite a contrast from his appearance in the beginning of the chapter, killing Lucifer and seeing for bigger events. I suppose Lucifer being reunited with his Angela is a fitting end for his character. Anyway, it might be fair to say, this was my favourite chapter of the manga.



The Divine Design arc as a whole might be my favourite arc in GetBackers so far. At the very least, I definitely prefer it to the Infinity Fortress, despite that arc having several great things, I found the plot here a lot more interesting and the arcs of the children to be a little more consistently interesting. It also felt a lot less about the action. Maybe it helps that it wasn't in the anime, so it felt fresher. But the training stuff was really fun too, one of my favorite little training arcs. It does suck in both of these arcs, Himiko ends up needing to be saved in both her battles, she got a little more to do on her own in Infinity Fortress, which does help there. And that arc had more Akabane, which is a plus (and in truth, I think Makubex was a better antagonist than Lucifer).
