GetBackers Chapter 144 Discussion

                        Hot damn what a chapter. I really liked how this battle wrapped up, considering the history of Toshiki and Juubei it wouldn't have been right if it ended without Kazuki's involvement (though I didn't necessarily see it coming), and I really love the note of why he turned his back on him, Kazuki noticed him never attacking his opponent from behind is pretty sweet. I think Toshiki's backstory made sense, and Juubei saying he needs him was also pretty heartwarming. The ending with Toshiki's heart being ripped out by Lucifer was a fantastic cliffhanger and ending to the chapter/volume, the heart "bathumps" have been featured in this arc quite a bit but haven't really had any pay-off yet. This was certainly a powerful pay-off.
