GetBackers Chapter 114 Discussion

                        Surprisingly mostly not a comedy piece. It certainly started that way with whatever the hell Juubei was doing, I'm guessing those jokes actually felt like jokes in the original Japanese though I do like that they tied that back to Makubex one off line. But we got a lot more information and characterization for Kazuki, which was nice. I loved Kazuki sensing from Ban to stop talking about the Miroku. I love how you can see Ban's snake imagery start to form on Kazuki as he talks. It also does a lot to help build intrigue for Ban's involvement in their story. It goes back to comedy after that, with the whole monkey bit which is amusing.



In the anime, I recall actually seeing some of the fight against the monkeys, which reminds me, this is, the last arc adapted into the anime. The nature of time and terrible memory meant I was only working with like half-knowledge of what was going on but next I'll be enterting completely uncharted territory. Quite looking forward to see what's next for the GetBackers.
