It is not stated but to me, they really look alike :
glasses + scar at the same eye... well I didn't even question it before you said you didn't see it that way, so to be fair, maybe that was a hasty conclusion

And on my second point (sorry my English is not great, I'm french :) ),

I am saying I don't think in chapter 251 meant he literally had to die to know the truth.

I was refering to chapter 249 with Allen saying goodbye to Kanda after they arrive in front of the library saying "I'm leaving !" (I have the french translation), with a kind of smile that seemed to say "farewell" + thought bubbles saying "he was somewhat remodeled by the memory change + not even sure that the "true allen" even exists + "will I even be able to be "me"

+ Mother praying for Allen saying "This kid will never come back. Farewell Allen Walker"

So to me it's more like now that he will know the truth, the "Allen Walker" as he is now will never be the same, because he was shaped by his past trauma and experiences, which could have been modified. His whole value system and what he believes in may change etc.

So what I got is that the price to pay to know the truth is just that, not really "dying" per se

Well, this chapter was full of reveals as expected. So Allen in his past was a soldier who was found wounded by Nea and offered to become his host in exchange for an unspecified wish. Bookman Jr. (who also used the alias Lavi) apparently was going to be the host but he couldn't do it in time. And Apocryphos was the one who rejuvenated Allen and gave him his Innocence as it was hinted before, with "Lavi" apparently sacrificing himself in order to save Allen.

This was insane, but I don't think it will be the last part of the flashback. I at least thank that it wasn't dragged off and had some truly juicy info. I don't think we have seen everything about Allen's past, so I expect more reveals about him next chapter.

@JoyBoy isn't "Lavi" Cross Marian ? Wdym "died as soon as he was introduced" ? haha

I don't think they meant to literally "die" -->
Allen already made his farewell to Kanda before he left more or less, as he thought about how "Allen" may have never existed to begin with ---> by knowing the truth, "Allen Walker" as he is today will die, only for him to be back to original Allen (the soldier, not "Walker" then, but we don't know his full name), because your whole identity, wishes and values all come from your memories and experiences, so it might change his perspective and personality once he knows the truth about his past
