D.Gray-man Chapter 189 Discussion

Allen is fighting him so he won't come out. Hmm...reminds me a little Naruto.



Fighting inner demons is in fashion these days (Sayan Blood in San Goku (DB), Inner Hollow in Itchigo (BLEACH), Black Blook in Maka (Soul Eater)...) I guess thats the best way for mangaka to give the main hero a darker side without making him do evil stuff. Can be interesting, but I really hope that someone just makes some antiheroic shonen protagonist rather then give him an inner demon that is failed to lose...

I don't know, but it's not as interesting as it was before. It should feel EPIC, but somehow it doesn't.

I actually like the 14th appearance.  He was introduced last chapter (or what is two chapters ago) in front of Lenalee.  





But in the scene with Lenalee, he actually looked menacing, threatning and badass! In this chapter he's all like "muhahaha first i'll destroy you earl and then the world!" (okay Im exaggerating ). my point is his appearance was so un-menacing and abrupt.

waitaminute! what?? when did this happen!? Lenalee wuzn't even in the last few chapters... could someone send me a link to this?

Completely agree with you. Something feels very wrong.

the chapters have been rushed ever since she came back from that ridiculously long hiatus. it's hard to follow, and the art's changed a lot.



i have to say that i have no idea how to take the comedy. it's funny, but it feels unnecessarily forced. dgm usually has a bit of humor in it, but this is getting a bit...hard to approach. i always imagined the scene between the fourteenth and the earl to be very intense and deadly serious. having a random headbutt in it was sorta weird.



and dear goodness, i don't like to see how this is going with kanda. maybe i'm just whining, but i felt really sad seeing that he had some sort of woman concerned with his past...=.=



i also feel like the art's changed to the point where allen and kanda look like children now. kanda looked like a girl in the beginning of the series, then he looked really really good in the noah's ark arc, and really really good for the timothy arc, but after the hiatus, he's starting to revert back to a more feminine and younger look, which is a bit unsettling.

Kanda was nice too and I loved how he crushed Rhode XD And wanted the tie :P Can't wait to see his past >.< And I'm wondering if Kanda is a true human or was made through experiments ôo Everything is a bit confusing xD;;



Oh, and the Earl being steped on was funny, though it went too long. There were some nice jokes but some were out of place >.< Seemed forced :/



In the previous chapter show the human form of Earl. The human seems similar. Have the past previous chapters ever show mana face before?



Plus, I feel like both allen and tyki kick on the earl face togetheris like out of place. Isn't Tyki and Allen like hate each other?
