Wow. So much information was jammed packed into that chapter. It gave me the sense that the author wants to finish this manga as soon as possible, thus, skipping over the fights (which probably would have happened between Allen and Tyki if this was still being serialized normally in Jump) and just getting to the main plot. It's a shame though. I do hope that's not the case and we'll get a story properly told.
I have a feeling that, because of all the hiatuses and downtime, Hoshino (or her editor?) wanted to "make it up" to the fans in order to make up for lost time, thus leading to the information overload we got in this chapter. I hope this rapid pace and packing in of action and information doesn't continue, otherwise she'll lose us all in confusion =/

This isn't the DGM I remember. Every character is a bishie with some clothes that probably only mentally retarded would wear. The chapter itself felt really awkward and rushed, it took me time to understand what the heck is happening.
I agree. Waaaaaaay too confusing. Allen looks terrible now. What happened to the art quality? And Tyki looks like a freaking Ansem cosplayer.
Was that the Earl at the end of the chapter??? In his human form? I can't think of anyone else who would be wearing a hat like that and a cane.
The art quality was great. You are probably complaining about the new art style. And its to be expected. I mean, how much time has passed in the story line? At least a few years. Characters should realistically change. Not to mention the author has been taking hiatus breaks, so she undoubtedly developed/refined her style.
And yeah, I'm also assuming that's Earl in human form (or some kind of form that's related back to the Earl). It'll probably be explained to a degree the next chapter.
Yeah, the art style has been changing since many chapters ago. If you compare the first few chapters to those of the Battle in Edo arc to the latest chapters, you'll see huge changes, but since they happen gradually, it can be difficult to notice until it's really far developed. It's not unusual - it happens for many mangaka.
Also, I agree that it's normal for characters themselves to gradually change in appearance, anyway. Allen looks far more grown-up than he did at the beginning of the series.
