Lone Wolf and Cub Chapter 132 Discussion

Abe's death was so pathetic, but he didn't deserve better.

You can't deny that he was one hell of a tough bastard, in a sense that he had more luck than brains. He got so many chances, yet he refused to see the errors and mend his ways. Instead he challenged Bushido with his own wicked methods and failed miserably.

The thought of being inferior drove him so far, even tho he secretely was fascinated by the way of life which was out of reach for him. Sad. But his last moments and how he eventually accepted his fate were quite interesting, also the fact that Ittou carried out the beheading.

Finally, Abe dies as the pitiful person he'd become. Irony that it was Itto who dealt the final blow. I'd had figure if anyone would kill him, it'd be Retsudo after all he was put through.

Kai really messed up this show a lot, he should have been killed ages ago and the plot was dragged because of him, a decent end for him but good riddance.

Abe basically saying "Are you people crazy? Trying to cut my belly?" is literally the only moment where the reader can relate to this obscene character lol. A really weird moment of self awareness about the bizarre rituals that ruled the society of the era, it almost feel meta.

Abe would have preferred to be dispatched in Europe with a simple hanging or guillotine, there's no onus on the victim to proactively contribute anything.

It's about damn time Abe finally got the chop. He died pitiful like the shitty person that he was. He couldn't accept death until finally Itto was able to calm him down and help him come to terms with it. I'm sure he felt like he could finally accept it if he was being put on the same level as Itto and Retsudō in some type of way.

At first Abe couldn't even bring himself to get on the platform where he must commit seppuku. They had to force him. Then he couldn't bring himself to cut his stomach and cried out like a little bitch. At that point the others were done with his disgraceful behavior and they decided to hold him down and cut his stomach since he wouldn't do it. Even after cutting him, he continued to struggle and refuse. He was even able to get up and use the seppuku blade to kill the three men who were cutting him. They were ordered to cut him down, but even as one who isn't a samurai, he was able to cut them down. It was until Itto came strolling in that Abe finally calmed down. Itto was able to help him accept his fate. Then Itto stuck his hand out for them to bring him a sword and he did what he was known for, beheading people. He swiftly cut off Abe's head, which is kind of funny that Itto was the one to kill him in the end. It's fitting though. Can't wait for Retsudō to finally hear about it.

One of the best chapters of Lone Wolf and Cub no doubt, it's such a perfect death scene. Abe no Kaii was truly one of the most despicable characters I've ever seen in manga, yet the chapter truly brings out the terror of being forced to commit seppuku. I expected Itto to finish Kaii and it really happened! I wonder if his prediction about the "order" is correct...will he be next, before Retsudo?

This chapter is just sad and pretty funny at the same time.

Abe Seppuku was just one big entertaiment thing to read, the guy was doing absolute nonsence the whole time and embarrasing himself and all spectators.

Can't believe they actually had to cut his belly instead of him and failed to do so. At least that bastard managed to man up and kill someone before his final moments.

Itto finishing Abe up was a beauty and very deserved death for a character that looked so clever and intereting in his introduction only to fall so low and pathetic in his final chapters. That head cut was awesome and showed why Itto is truly blademaster of blademasters.

What a chapter, truly top tier when it comes to Samurai manga
