If Gon did keep that power he'd be probably one of the best hunters (if not best) since that's his power drawn out to its full potential. That would mean he wouldn't get that much stronger.
That's a very interesting statement in my mind. If Togashi did something like that - allowing Gon to remain at full power without having to build up to it - that would set Hunter x Hunter even further outside the realm of the typical shonen series.
We don't need to have a build up because he's already there. We don't need to have a monster of the arc because he's already strong enough. It would give the series the space to do more character development things, which I'm all for. I just hope it wouldn't be along the same lines as after Yusuke beat Toguro; thinking he was invincible but really just being at the top of a low tier.
I'd really like to see us get Gon back, but as far as character development goes, I think I would be more disappointed than anything if all of his innocence was intact.
I get the feeling that Pariston is going to win, but I don't know how. I also have this itch in the back of my mind that the election can't end without Kurapika and/or Gon present. Like as Leorio's answering the question Pariston posed at the end of the chapter, Kurapika arrives and - I don't know - takes over as 'campaign manager' because he's discovered something about Pariston and can't let him win.
There's so many directions this could go in. Why isn't it next week yet?
