Wow, this was pretty deep.

And tricky, too... Liked it =)

That baba is predicting quite accurate. Kurapika against leorio is always fun to watch.

geez what a tricky question.  i would hate to ever be in a position where i'd have to make that kind of choice.

This whole quiz doesn't make any sense. There's 2 things wrong with it:

1. Why will gon, leorio and kurapika all get disqualified if only 1 one of them answers incorrect? Everyone should be questioned individually. And also why didn't the answer of the random guy affect gon, leorio and kurapika? Makes no sense at all.

2. The quiz in itself is logically not possible to answer. She says there are only 2 options to answer, but actually there is a third, silence.

Well, then she should have said there are 3 options: 1-" son", 2-"daughter", 3-"nothing/silence/no answer".

But no, she said there are only 2 options, so of course one would decide to pick one of them, better than nothing.

The whole hunter exam is really flawed, many of the stages have such stupid vague challenges. It all depends on the individual. Just because one does not get that "tricky" question doesn't make him a bad hunter. Leorio is the best example, because he basically got the hunter license out of pure luck. He isn't really qualified to have it.

Granted it's a completely inconsequential, irrelevant note but I liked that we learned what the examinee actually would've picked here. At least, I don't recall the 2011 or 99 anime giving as this little tidbit.

Anyway onto stuff that matters, I actually really loved this part of Hunter x Hunter. It's a nice, clever quiz that both provides an early example of the psychological aspects to HxH while foreshadowing the kind of darkness that [potentially] awaits them if they become Hunters.

Very interesting first quiz, I was just as stupid as Gon and didn't figure it out either lol

I like the dynamic that's building up already. Kurapika is my current favorite- I think he will be like Nico Robin and wants to be around whimsical people to cheer up his world. This line stuck out to me: "I just want to see what Gon does."

Also Gon's father was there at the start of the chapter right?

Man, the facial expressions and small face doodles are literally the cutest ^^

The journey has only begun!

I'm not really a fan of this test. But I do like how Gon is the one that keeps thinking about the question, and by doing that, is the one that truly understood it.

I wonder if Gon will ever have to choose between two loved ones.

A tricky question indeed, would be a shame to actually have to make it.

Yeah, I agree. I'd say this arc is mostly carried by the characters and their interactions.
