I've started watching the 2011 series of hunter x hunter  after greed island i stopped and wanted to watch the 199 version. some how despite the story is told the same the influence of it's time shows very well. The designs backgrounds of York new city shows more of the influence from new York. the dark shades gives it an  interesting atmosphere. i like both versions, but i just wish the 1999 version would have continued but the author keeps going on hiatus it couldn't be helped

What I love the most about HxH it's no matter how talented Gon/Killua are, they lack strenght and experience, then they face impotence. This chapter is all about impotence. Killua, always self-confident, listen the harsh words of Morel in silence. Finally he understands how arrogant they were, thus learning how small they can be in a world of experienced nen users.

Simply amazing.

Morel looks kind of weird in the manga. Other than that, good stuff. Besides Netero, who we know, two other important character Knov and Morel make their first appearance. I like Gon's optimism, how he's so sure that Kite would be "that thing", only for us readers to see that shot with Pitou holding Kite's head in her lap.

Holy cow I wasn't expecting for Kite to go out like that so early against a Royal Guard :o

Just goes to show how crazy this arc is gonna be and now I think I see why it's lauded as one of the best of all time.

Yet another amazing chapter. Killua's "You are light.." inner speech is such a great way to understand both him and his relationship with Gon.

And Gon's optimism followed by that last image with Kite's severed head is great. It really showcases how this arc will not be forgiving for Gon and his worldview.
