The kite scene was really cool. I liked the two demons of meifumado kite that they used to signal Itto. I was a bit worried for Diagoro because you can tell he wanted to fly a kite too and have fun, but luckily Itto had him fly one to convey a message back to the folks that were hiring them. Despite doing this to disguise their intentions, an old man was able to discern the message from the kites. So he followed Itto instead of minding his business. Obviously that wasn't going to happen though since he was a veteran policeman with 37 years experience. Catching Itto would be his catch of a lifetime and his final mission. Itto assassinates his target and the old man is in disbelief that he would do such a thing in broad daylight. He tells Itto he's under arrest, but Itto disregards him. The old man puts up a fight, but Itto doesn't want to kill him. The old man was actually very skilled and capable for his age. Surprised the hell out of me to see that he still had some moves, but old age has caught up with him and after Itto tosses him, he gets all dizzy while getting back up. Even then, he still doesn't give up and manages to catch Itto's neck in his wire rope, but Itto cuts it and continues on. The old man is stunned that his rope was cut so he tries again, but he ends up passing out. Out of respect, Itto commends his effort and takes off his robe and covers him with it. He yells at the townsfolk to call a doctor to get the old man help before going off on his journey.
