Ouran Koukou Host Club Chapter 8 Discussion

Honestly, I understand both perspectives from Tamaki and Haruhi.



First off, yes, Haruhi did a good thing intervening to save that girl. I probably would’ve done the same thing. However, she was against 3 dudes. She’s a bit outnumbered if she does not have some sort of defensive skills or pepper spray to take them on, regardless of being a woman or not. I don’t have the physical defensive moves for shit if I was in her shoes.



Because Haruhi never asks for help, she’s very stubborn in this sense. (And I get that, im the same way). This is why Tamaki is upset. She didn’t care to think that Tamaki and the crew were nearby enough to stop the situation from escalating. Haruhi’s head was injured, bleeding, and then she was pushed off the cliff. She should’ve asked for help, especially if she knew it could’ve been dangerous. I understand, being a woman myself, we wanna be independent as fuck without the help of men. Let it be known, IT IS STILL OK TO ASK FOR HELP, REGARDLESS of whatever anyone identifies as. Tamaki and the others were not even 50 ft away, so this literally could’ve been prevented if they had gotten involved. If Haruhi had enough time to get a pail of water, she had enough time to seek for help. Personally, after the girl was released, both her and Haruhi should’ve ran off to save themselves. Why STAY there????





Tamaki on the other hand, perhaps he should not have been so harsh to her since she got injured, but he did save her life when it could’ve been too late. She could’ve DIED. On the flip side, if she died for the sake of saving a life, would that justify in this story? Would she die a hero?



In the heat of the moment, saving someone is usually a fight or flight situation, so that’s why I don’t blame Haruhi for getting involved since it was instinct for her, especially being another woman herself. When we don’t plan ahead, that’s when (sometimes) it could worsen the situation when we don’t think clearly. All around, it was a shitty situation for everyone, and everyone’s safety was at risk, without Tamaki and crew. Someone was going to get hurt one way or another. There probably could’ve been other ways to go about this scenario, but this is just my opinion based on what I’ve read in this chapter.

Tamaki really pissed me off in this chapter. He had no reason to act like this!!T-T I mean I get that he’s concerned for her safety,

                        I honestly don't know why Tamaki reacted the way he did. Haruhi went off her instincts and saved that girl from being assaulted. It's different is Tamaki was a little upset because he was concerned about her safety but the act that she did was not wrong at all. I'm proud of Haruhi for not apologizing.
