Diagoro once again proving that he's a tough little boy. Still alone after 5 days and haven't eaten for almost two, he stumbles on a group of fishermen and still refuses their generosity when they offer him food. Instead he decides to wait for them to leave and mimics their fishing style so that he could feed himself. One of the ladies comes back because she couldn't leave him there alone in good conscience, so she decides to help him. An old priestess lady sees his shishōgan eyes and is horrified to see it in such a young child. She tells the women to abandon him because her superstition believes he'll bring them harm. The lady doesn't listen and still decides to take him in. The next day, the family heads out to work and Diagoro is left with the old grandpa and baby. The old priestess comes by again and sees Diagoro so she tries to run him off. The old grandpa drops his pipe and ends up causing a fire that engulfs the house. The priestess blames it on Diagoro since she believes he's evil. They also realize that the baby was laying there and assume it has died in the fire. I really thought the same thing too, but luckily Diagoro was quick and saved the baby before anything bad happened. Diagoro runs off after reuniting the baby with his worried mother. I hope Diagoro finds Itto soon. Their lives are strongly bonded through meifumado that they don't know any other way to live at this point. Especially Diagoro since he was born into this lifestyle. Poor kid.
