Kozure Ookami Chapter 36 Discussion

                        Another chapter full of beauty and tragedy. The way people lived during this time is so fascinating and their display of honor and loyalty is incredible. The way this man named Shogen lived to honor his deceased lord was out of complete respect and loyalty. To live such a simple life protecting the land your former master loved until death takes you is tragically beautiful.

They let this man be for four years, but after an incident, they now want him dead. Seeing Itto crossing the river, Shogen knew that death had come for him and that Itto was hired to assassinate him since so many others have failed. Shogen accepted his fate and knew it was time to join his Lord in death. Manly tears were shed after Itto spoke of him as the most honorable retainer a lord could wish to have. Those were nice words before taking his life. Wonderful chapter as always.

I loved this retainer. His loyalty is to be admired.
