Beautifully written chapter. It surprised me to see Itto doing such menial work for a man of his caliber, but at the end, everything comes full circle and we learn of his reason for helping the women in the rice fields. Due to the life he's chosen, a young woman was killed as an innocent bystander. Itto's honor couldn't allow him to just let it go, so he fulfilled the young woman's dying wish. He planted rice and added one of her hairs to each shoot he planted. It was nice to see Diagoro finally having a moment of normalcy in his young life and getting a chance to see a different side of his father. He was able to feel happiness and peace in his heart, despite knowing that he'd soon go back to his life of meifumado.
