Growing up as a kid who never really watched the original Dragon Ball, this moment made Tien one of my favourite characters growing up. His apology to Chaiotzu that he'll probably die, him actually managing to hold Cell back when he was unfazed by 16's earlier attack, stuff like Goku's yelling at him to stop (since the move saps Tien's life force), it's all pretty hype.
now this all connected, toriyama actually went and returned old-tien-move. too bad the means the side effects of this attack. but still good to have those kind of character that literally doing nothing in the series have some part. the only other one is kuririn which have role of his own lol. (and bulma, but she's different story)
though that tien planned it pretty well from the middle of the chapter, we still got to see cell method. truly tricky figure.
