Lol I doubt you really understand Oboro's importance to the overall story and his appearance every time Gin's past is mentioned.
Re-read the guy's backstory.
I understand and he is still boring and annoying. When he always appear than he repeats over and over again the same words about heavens bulshit. Backstory means nothing when he doesnt have a good personality. He's always the same.
Re-read Takasugi backstory and you will see good character development.
But that's his job, he's supposed to be a counter part to Gin and others, as how they're still funny and smiling somehow, he keeps a dark and cold appearance. He's been through a lot of shit as well, they're even around the same age.
And its pretty amazing how he always tells them to stop resisting the heavens, as how they're fighting a already lost battle, which is quite true when you look at how strong Usturo is.
Takasugi is just a fuckboi who couldn't handle his master's death, so he decided to destroy the world, a lot similar to Obito from Naruto.Takasugi's more than that really. Takasugi could never understand why Gintoki isn't fighting for sensei when he was the one who looked up to him the most, and he was the one who had the largest burden. I guess that's what angered him the most.
