Well, that ends Yusuke/Toguro. The finish of the match isn't particularly the greatest but I suppose it makes sense. The action as a whole was pretty strong at the beginning but the end of it shifted focus over more to expressing the different viewpoints of Yusuke & Toguro and why Yusuke's right. Basically, it was friendship power speech without being as abundantly clear about it. & it's not bad or evenly badly executed (as they're focused more on the ideals of Yusuke & Toguro when it pertains to strength) but to be honest, it isn't exactly interesting once it becomes fully about that (after Kuwabara's death/sacrifice). & considering this fight lasted about an entire volume it was a rather uninteresting climax.
Glad the tournament's finally over. Seven volumes of almost nothing but action just doesn't interest me anymore like it did when I was younger. Most of the fights themselves went by quickly & outside of last minute turnaround finishes or squashes for Hiei, Togashi thankfully didn't repeat himself & allowed for variety. There were plenty of enjoyable moments of the Dark Tournament arc still though but it's nowhere as strong as I once remembered it. & yes, I'm aware we still have an epilogue to get through.
