Yu☆Gi☆Oh! Chapter 116 Discussion

Great chapter. I've been waiting for this to happen. Where both Yugi's realize they need each other and they start working together as one. Where Yami Yugi loosens up some of his arrogance while regular Yugi strengthens his timidness.

After Mai lost to Joey, she went through a lot of emotions, but in the end realized who she was as a duelist and became stronger because of it. Now she's helping Yugi realize this, but she stomped him pretty badly before he finally got the point. Even when Yugi drew the Dark Magician and placed it in defense mode, it didn't matter because Mai negated Yugi's defense and had it placed back into attack mode with a card of her own. It caused Yugi's monster to attack her, but lost the fight and she destroyed it. With only 300 points left, Yugi finally solves her riddle and begins his comeback. He uses a card we've never seen before, Brain Control, which allowed him to control one of her monsters. Then he draws his Catapult Turtle and straps the monster he took over onto the turtle and catapults it into Mai's mirror wall and destroys it. Now he'll finally be able to battle her on a more even playing field since his monsters won't lose half of its attack points. But with only 300 points left, he's going to have to play this duel wisely. This is going to be very interesting to see how he prevails in the end.

                        Dark Yugi grew as he faced Mai. And Mai also shed light on some of her own struggles throughout the arc.



She dominated the entire duel up to the last bit where Yugi made a comeback with freaking Brain Control and Catapult Turtle, wow. I never saw him use Brain Control before tho.
