Yu☆Gi☆Oh! Chapter 97 Discussion

                        Teamwork, teamwork, teamwork! Joey and Yugi do more combos and eventually take down the whole Gate Guardian. Guess the MeiKyu brothers weren't that tough after all, or were Yugi and Joey just more stronger together?!  Anyway, the brothers loose, and now Yugi and Joey will have enough chips to get to Pegasas's castle.  

Man, what an awesome conclusion to an amazing duel. Yugi and Jonouchi have excellent teamwork. Jonouchi is particularly stronger when he's got confidence in himself due to having Yugi as back up.

The mangaka really knows how to draw out these matches to the very end making them exciting and just the right length, so that they don't come out seeming overdone or end quickly either. They're just right.

After the brothers played the Ryoku card, I was biting my nails, but seeing Jonouchi play that copycat card was a smart move. And then Yugi's little switch-a-roo was nice so that the Black Skull Dragon was face to face with the Gate Guardian thereby ending the match with a checkmate. Good stuff!

Despite the win, they still must choose the correct door if they want to move on toward the castle to defeat Pegasus. So let's see!
